Youth Music Maker Programme

In a country of 150 million people, the life of children in a street situation is full of anxiety, uncertainty and stresses. They don’t dare to dream for a better future. They normally discover the world as discriminating and hostile to them since they undergo different abusive situation and have to do many humiliating jobs to earn their breads. As a result, they lose all the charms and amusements from their life.

Youth Music Maker Programme of Aparajeyo-Bangladesh aims to explore the potentiality of street children in music making and building up musician among them. It is believed that every child has immense potentialities which sometime don’t see the light due to lack of proper opportunity. Youth Music Maker Programme intends to form a musical band of street children by identifying talented and interested street children and building them as expert musician. The project operates through one training centre where the street children go and receive training on singing and playing musical instrument under the guidance of two part-time music instructors. The project has been providing musical training to 30 street children who have excellent voice of singing and extreme desire to learn to play musical instruments. The musical band will perform amongst community people to raise awareness on child rights issues.
